The practice is the product of a deliberate progression — from public practice into commercial finance, into finance leadership, into finance transformation, and finally into the founding of JP Accountancy Services. Each stage answered a question the previous one could not.

Public practice taught the technical craft: how the numbers should behave, and what good looks like when they don't. Commercial finance made those numbers useful — they stopped being a record of the past and became an input into the next decision. Finance leadership was where the operating reality took over: standing inside a growing business, watching how governance, systems and reporting either accelerate decisions or quietly hold them back.

The finance transformation work followed naturally. Leading finance across a construction and labour services group as it grew from roughly $15 million to over $60 million in revenue made the pattern clear: businesses don't outgrow their accountant, they outgrow their finance function. Rebuilding it — new ERP, new governance, new executive reporting — was the work that actually moved the numbers.

JP Accountancy Services exists to bring that same operating perspective to owners of growing businesses.
